The Name Conundrum

We are lame.

There is no name for our baby. She has been here for 48 hours now. We've known she has been on the way for months. We can't decide. I think it is such a daunting task to give someone something that will be stuck with them for the rest of their life. I think it is also because we are both afraid to pull the trigger and make a decision. It once took us 2 months to name a dog and then we gave it away.

So here are our choices so far - but they may change.

Grace

Scarlett

Lexi

Victoria

Deborah

Pamela

K- time to make a decision!!! Just do it! This is getting ridiculous. You need to pick one of those names- all fine names and go with it. Are they in order of preference?

Nope- Jones is right, get on with it already. I named Buster, I can name the baby too.
What about Annie- short for Anonymous?
HAHA- Missy and Maggie say hi!

Oops! I forgot to evaluate Lexi for you. Lexi brings to mind: cute, probably the most trendy of the selections, I think of fun, cute, and social. I think it is a very fun loving type of name.

I will give you my two cents. Grace-she isn't 80 years old yet. Scarlett- she wasn't born any time near the civil war. Lexi- maybe, only if it is short for Alexis Carrington Wetzel. Victoria- now we're getting somewhere. Deborah- not bad. Pamela- not bad either. Azraela- perfect!

Ok here is the rundown:
Scarlett: this name brings to mind-a couragous, beautiful, strong-willed, fiesty woman. Kind of like Scarlett O'Hara. Although Scarlett Johansen has given it a modern twist. This name is really different but not weird different.
Grace and Victoria conjure the same images for me. Sophisticated, graceful, elegant, and truely classy. Never a need to explain or spell-EVER.
Pamela- Jenks. That is all I can say on that.
Deborah-This is my least favorite, but still respectable. I work with probably seven high school band teachers with this name. They are all on the older side. I guess that is why I associate Deborah with mid-age.Lexi is on a previous post.

I do know that Grace and Victoria have been favorites of Erica's for really as long as I can remember. So for that reason they get my vote.

Quick response to Cornbread...They have had nine months and a week! Five of which they knew they were having a girl!

Grace is not an old lady's name.
Grace Kelly will always be 25.

Grace and Victoria are my top two choices. Plus I predicted a month ago it would be Grace.

But the girls are right, you can't use the excuse you didn't know you were having a girl. Time to make decision! You don't want adorable baby * to have an identity crisis do you? :-)

Watch the scene in rear window when Grace Kelly comes to visit Jimmy Stewart and bring him dinner while she's wearing a ball gown. There's your answer right there ;)

I like Grace - sophisticated, lady like - almost regal.
I also Scarlet because it is feminine yet so fiercely strong.
How about Chloe? Not that you need anymore choices.

I vote for the name Scarlet,

I think she most looks like a Victoria. Just pretend that the name was nevber on Y&R and that she is technically not named after Victor Newman.
